The Screen Guide

An animated documentary based on the recorded voices of three children who were interviewed over the phone while being detained in one of Australia's several Immigration Detention Centres. The film was animated and directed collaboratively by the Southern Ladies Animation Group (S.L.A.G.), a group of independent animators based in Melbourne. The children are depicted as caged migratory birds. They reflect on their environment, the food and what they imagine Australia is like 'outside'.
