The Screen Guide

This is a 'making of' story about a group of young children from over 30 different cultural groups working together to produce and perform a musical play, Junk Yard Band. JUNK YARD BAND goes behind the scenes to capture the tension, fun and creativity of producing a musical play - the adrenaline rush before the curtain goes up and the post-show excitement once the curtain has fallen. This is a visual journey as we count down the number of days, hours then minutes before the curtain goes up. The children attend Gilles Street Primary in Adelaide’s inner city. Many of the children are new arrivals attending a program which prepares them for entry to their neighbourhood school.
