In the squalid basement of a suburban home, unemployed filmmaker Max Wren spends his days and nights hunting for footage of the controversial online performance artist Lenore — piecing together a distorted tribute to her in the wake of her sudden disappearance. But before he can complete his magnum opus, Max must face a domineering antagoniser from his past, two nosy police officers tipped off about his antisocial behaviour, and most concerning of all: a violent and vengeful spirit that seems to live within his grotesque editing Suite. As Max is propelled through the night, his desperation unravels into madness as the truth behind Lenore’s disappearance comes to light, and Max’s own sins can no longer be hidden.
