The Screen Guide

A film about the filmmaker's grandmother, Lallie Coombs. A rare film in the now popular genre of family album tributes, it quickly grabs our interest and sustains it to the end. Adventurously the camera lingers on evocative and carefully chosen objects as well as long references to Lallie's age-worn hands in 'experimental' close-up sequences. The very personal and revealing narration by the filmmaker and her subject underscores the meticulously selected images.
