The Screen Guide

Yoshiko loves her daughter Chisa and husband Kenji. They are her family, her way of life. One day she takes Chisa out on a jetty and holding her close, plunges into the lake. The Japanese call this 'oyako shinju', or parent/child suicide. For Yoshiko, it was a way to avoid shame. MOONFALL tells the story of a tragic clash of cultures.
