The Screen Guide

This program explores the world of Australia's cooperative breeders, where animals relinquish the chance to breed in order to stay at home to help raise their younger brothers and sisters. It examines just why Australia has such a high incidence of this phenomena, and includes what is quite possibly the most extreme cooperative breeder in the bird world - the White-winged Chough - whose antics include 'kidnapping' their neighbour's young.
