The Screen Guide

One big mob of Indigenous Youth are on their way to the big smoke for World Youth Day, Sydney 2008. 118 residents of the rugged Kimberley region in Australia’s far North West are in the final stages of preparations to make their pilgrimage to Sydney, joining an estimated 500,000 other people from all over the globe. From Balgo in the remote Great Sandy Desert to the coastal communities of Beagle Bay, Bidgydanga and Lombadina, on the Dampier Peninsula, they will assemble in Broome before departing on July 12th. For some this is the first time they will have left their traditional country.
