The Screen Guide

PROVENCE looks into the lifeblood of southern France and takes the viewer to places where tourists have never been. Each episode handles a different topic in its own right, surveying the unique historical background which has made Provence and its people so different from the rest of France. The series examines the customs, legends and traditions of the Provencals; it deals with religion, architecture, archaeology, adversity and disease, revealing an astonishing evolution from prehistoric times. It is the real Provence through the eyes of the Provencales themselves.
