The Screen Guide

Edited highlights of the The Diamond Jubilee of the RAAF, which was celebrated on Sunday, 5 April 1981, at Amberley Air Base in Queensland with the most spectacular air show ever staged in Australia. The event was first presented as a live telecast running two-and-a-half-hours, and edited hightlights were repeated the following night. The show was covered by 14 ABC-TV cameras up to three kilometres apart, two of them in helicopters. Both ABC commentators have aviation backgrounds - David Flatman as a licensed pilot, Jeff Watson as a former aviation correspondent for a British newspaper.
