The Screen Guide

Aboriginal people have lived in Australia for the past 40,000 years or more. During this time the sea levels have twice risen and fallen 100 metres, meaning that many hunting grounds and sacred areas are now under water. This documentary is a contemporary view of what Aboriginal people call their sea country. SALTWATER PEOPLE covers five Aboriginal communities, ranging from those who have lost everything during white settlement to those whose lives have changed little. It follows their struggles and success in retaining (regaining) their sea country.
