The Screen Guide

Shellie Morris is a Darwin-based singer and songwriter, who was born in Sydney and adopted out to a non-Indigenous family at birth. In her younger years she learnt the flute, piano and organ, and as a young adult was trained in opera. In the late 1990s she moved to Darwin to learn more about her Indigenous family, and it was there that she found her purpose in life as a singer, which later led her to hone her craft at the Northern Territory University. From the Message Stick series.
