The Screen Guide

This film shows a face of Siberia which has seldom been seen. We discover a country which has been largely untouched by the fall of communism. Flying in a helicopter once the personal machine of the country's president, and then sailing in an ancient fishing boat, we explore the vast Lake Baikal, the world's largest freshwater lake. We meet the nomadic Buryat tribe, visit a Russian Orthodox Church, join a group of glaciologists in Kazakhstan and journey along the Great Silk Road through Uzbekistan.
