The Screen Guide

On the 15th February 1942, the world was stunned when the victorious Imperial Japanese Army marched into Singapore. About 80,000 British, Scottish, Australian and Indian troops became prisoners of war, joining the 50,000 troops taken by the Japanese in the Malay campaign. For the first time on television this momentous 20th century battle will be retold from a multi-national perspective. SINGAPORE 1942, is the story of those early shocking days of the Pacific War when belief in security, and comfort from Empire collapsed.
