The Screen Guide

The story of Kathy, Tim and Jenny, the years they spent as the human lifeline for asylum seekers held in Baxter Detention Centre, and their struggle to find love and purpose when the detainees were freed and left them behind. The Centre lies on the edge of the Australian desert, 300 kilometres from the nearest city. Since 2002 it has held hundreds of Iranian and Afghani people seeking asylum. They were cut off from the outside world with no hope of release, until Kathy, Tim and Jenny began visiting.
