The welfare of the animals remains front and centre, from the biggest team ever assembled to take Giraffe Jimiyu through a dangerous general anaesthetic procedure, a lifesaving intervention to save the life of lioness Marion and her unborn cubs, a project to bring platypus back to the Royal National Park after not being seen there for decades, and the grand opening of a new, exclusively native animal exhibit called ‘Nura Diya Australia’. What doesn’t change is Taronga’s key message of working to ensure there is a shared future, for both wildlife and people.
