The Screen Guide

A celebration of Australian Nobel Prize-winning author/dramatist Patrick White. Filmed in England, Egypt, Greece, Germany, Sweden and Australia, the program reveals the life White kept hidden from the world, the life from which his writing sprang. Contributing are friends, enemies and family, including Barry Humphries, David Malouf, Robyn Nevin, Geoffrey Dutton and Kate Fitzpatrick. Dramatic excerpts from his plays and novels are performed, and extracts presented from ABC recordings of his play The Ham Funeral and the opera based on his novel, 'Voss'.
