The Screen Guide

This film uses vintage footage of the Australian circus to trace the history of circus performance in Australia since 1847 and evoke the magic and miracles of the big top. It looks at the evolution of the circus in the face of today's high-tech entertainment alternatives and looks at the human side of the circus; the performers. The film also examines the animal liberation debate and how it affected traditional circus acts.
