The Screen Guide

This program is moulded around wide-ranging interviews, by Huw Evans, with five successive Australian Prime Ministers: Sir John Gorton, Sir William McMahon, Gough Whitlam, Malcolm Fraser and Bob Hawke. The program traces how the prime ministership has evolved since federation, and what the role entails today, in such areas as the Cabinet decision-making process; leadership challenges; information leaks; relationship with the media; personal security; and reactions to media satire. Huw Evans also talks to the wives of prime ministers.
