During the latter half of World War II a fighter pilot stationed near Darwin in the Northern Territory, Australia, flew to Darwin to collect the Christmas beer. For some unknown reason on his return he became lost, ran out of fuel and crash landed his Spitfire plane into crocodile infested mangroves in Western Australia.
