The story of leading Australian surgeon, Associate Prof Munjed Al Muderis, who is pioneering a little known procedure, Osseointegration. Munjed sets out to change the life of a young British soldier, a double amputee whose fought a David and Goliath battle to get the procedure. Munjed has his own battles within the medical fraternity. “He’s a maverick, he’s dangerous, he’s a super salesman” are how some of his esteemed colleagues describe him. Munjed is determined to realise his ambition, to give back to as many people as possible, their mobility. Though he craves acceptance he will do it, with or without the support of his peers.
