The Screen Guide

The marathon running fever which swept through the United States in the early 1970s is now well entrenched in Australian society. This program looks at marathons in Australia, and at the distress and in some cases collapse of runners. Those taking part in the program are marathon runners Jill van Dorsslaer, a 48-year-old mother of five; Ian Fournier; 73-year-old Win Foster; and 11-year-old Bradley Reynolds. Dr. Jill Colwell discusses medical concerns about the long-term effects of marathon running.
