The Screen Guide

A choreographic essay that explores video, dance and film. Using the duet form in a series of choreographic fragments essentialist dance practice is questioned particularly in relationship to the framing and invasive technique that filmed dance often employs. While traditional dance techniques have evolved to serve the needs of large spectacle rather than intimacy or subtlety this project challenges these conventions and is more concerned with efficiency ease and spontaneity as aesthetic frames.
