The Screen Guide

A true story of a woman's journey back to her mother's people. Janine Haynes, successful Arts Administrator, musician and mother of four children was taken from her Aboriginal mother at the age of two and brought up as a 'nice white girl'. In this film, she takes a highly charged emotional and spiritual journey with the guidance of Aboriginal elders to search for her Aboriginality. It is the Australian episode of CRYING FOR THE DREAM, a four-part documentary series which tells the stories of four Indigenous people from Canada, Central America, Australia and New Zealand.
