The Screen Guide

In 1822, eight convicts escaped the brutal penal settlement, Macquarie Harbour, in a fateful bid for freedom. Led by ex-sailor and experienced navigator, Robert Greenhill, the men battled against some of the world’s harshest terrain in the unexplored wilderness of Van Diemen’s Land. As supplies run out and tensions escalate, the group soon contemplates the unthinkable. Based on the infamous confessions of Alexander Pearce, Australia’s most notorious convict, VAN DIEMEN’S LAND is a dark gothic tale that reflects Australia’s true colonial heritage.
