The Screen Guide

Mark O'Connor, one of Australia's best younger poets, has made it his life's work to capture in word what he sees on the reef and islands of the Great Barrier Reef. Since he came to the Reef in 1973, Mark has written three books and become one of the most respected poets of his generation. This program traces a poet's odyssey to the Reef, and his development of a new poetic style to bring the richness of the area to all Australians.
