The Screen Guide

Imagine a wave of refugees who flee a wealthy, peaceful country, and seek refuge in Australia. They do this despite having to accept lower wages, contend with weird and deadly wildlife, and learn a new language. They then blend in so successfully that few notice or document their arrival. Those refugees are the aussteiger, the ones who stopped the world and stepped off. We ask them why they did it, what they experienced, and whether they would do the same if they had known what they know now.
