The Screen Guide

FRIDAY ON MY MIND is a migrant fairytale: the story of The Easybeats. Two Dutchmen, a couple of English and a Scott met at Villawood Migrant Hostel in 1964. Within a year they topped the music charts in Australia. Two years later they were world-beaters, Australia’s first international rock superstars. Fan hysteria (Easy Fever) was generated wherever they appeared. By 1969 it was over. Lead singer Stevie Wright was only 21. Forty years on, the original members of The Easybeats tell their story for the first time in one documentary.
