Aziz “Zyzz” Shavershian is a 19-year-old making internet memes and motivational videos out of his bedroom. He becomes the King of the ‘Aesthetics Movement’, a subculture that grows to dominate a fitness lifestyle of young men and women trying to achieve a Greek God-like physique. As a side effect, he becomes a leader to struggling young men; a pioneer in the space that influencers, more than a decade later, now inhabit. But Aziz’s anxiety, masked behind his confident avatar, ‘Zyzz’, is beginning to simmer to the surface. The steroids and lifestyle contribute. He tries to renounce Zyzz but is caught in his own web. In Thailand in 2011, he dies from a heart attack. His mythology, however, is only beginning.
