The Screen Guide

STAKES follows the journey of a young aspiring thoroughbred trainer seeking to fill the shoes of her recently deceased father, while battling a corrupt establishment, fraught with unethical competitors and submersed in the criminal element of the horse racing industry. The story itself highlights the contradiction between the rural innocence of country life and the outright brutality that commands the big city streets. Like fish out of water, the girls encounter obstacles at every corner and confront their greatest fears as they go face to face with gunmen in the alley.
