Lonely chess player Charlie spends his days alone in a darkened room playing intense solo games. When the promise of a rare chess manuscript tempts him to a local bookshop run by the vivacious Isobel, the wall of isolation Charlie has built around himself is penetrated. Burdened by the memory of his overbearing father, he must finally face the challenge Isobel presents. And in Isobel, Charlie may have finally met his match.
