The Screen Guide

THE WILD BLUE MOUNTAINS was filmed in the World Heritage listed Blue Mountains of New South Wales, over a period of five years. Shot over this long period it records the seasonal variation of the area, as well as events such as bushfires that occur over longer cycles. The Blue Mountains is a harsh, nutrient- deficient environment, however it supports great biodiversity, from the ancient rainforest of the gullies and canyons, to the fire-adapted plants of the rocky ridges and wild flowers of the area. The film attempts to give the audience a feeling of 'being there' a rich visual experience of the variety of the flora and the landscape of the mountains.
