The Screen Guide

TO THE OTHER SHORE is a poetic film about motherhood - an intimate meditation about family, society, identity and soul. Recreating passages from her psychoanalysis, the filmmaker documents the journey of a woman coming to terms with the war within the self and the war outside - moments where primal experiences erupt and private and public history elide. Acknowledging German filmmaker Syberberg's view, 'that the issue is to mourn through art'. TO THE OTHER SHORE is both a work of mourning and a work of contemplation (Also available on 16mm x 54 minutes)
