Julie Kalceff Director / Writer / Producer

Julie Kalceff is a writer, director and producer who has worked in film and television for over 15 years. Julie is the creator, writer, director and producer of the international hit multiplatform drama Starting From Now, which has amassed over 25 million views. After securing screen agency funding for Seasons 4 and 5 both seasons were acquired for broadcast television in Australia on SBS2. Starting From Now has screened in festivals around the world, winning the Audience Award at the Mardi Gras Film Festival, 2016; Outstanding Writing in a Drama Series and Outstanding Ensemble Cast in a Drama Series at LA WebFest, 2016; and Best Web Series at She Webfest, 2015.  A graduate of the Australian Film, Television and Radio School with a Masters Degree in Scriptwriting, Julie’s award-winning short films have screened in numerous festivals around the world. Her short, ex, was an official selection at over 20 film festivals, winning awards such as the Panavision Award, My Queer Career: Mardi Gras Film Festival, and Best Gal’s Short, Phoenix International Lesbian and Gay Film Festival. She was a writer/director on the 2011 web series The Newtown Girls, which was viewed in over 190 countries.  Julie is the founder and director of the Sydney-based production company Common Language Films (CLF). CLF focuses on developing and producing high quality stories for the screen, utilizing humour to tell dramatic, character-driven, female-centric stories that appeal to a wide audience.

Rosie Lourde Producer

Rosie Lourde is one of Australia's most exciting emerging actor/producers and was selected as one of the Screen NSW Emerging Producers as well as a Screen Producer’s Association Australia Ones to Watch in 2015. Her most recent project, multiplatform drama Starting From Now, has broken over 25 million views online and has sold and played on Australian Broadcast television on SBS2. Rosie is both a lead actor and key producer on Starting From Now and is currently in conversations about the next steps for the show. Rosie's first producing credit, feature Skin Deep won Best Indie Feature 2015 by AfterEllen, received an Honourable Mention at the Austin Film Festival and was nominated for an AWGIE.  As an actor, Rosie plays Starting From Now’s resident lost soul, Darcy, and can also be seen in features Felony (Goalpost) and Stephen Sewell’s directing debut Embedded (The Steve Jaggi Company), as well as on TV in Cleverman (ABC) and upcoming multiplatform sci-fi Restoration (STAN).
