Australian film Snowtown receives Jury Special Mention at Cannes Critics' Week

Screen Australia congratulates the team of the Australian feature film Snowtown for receiving the Special Mention of the President of the Jury at the 50th Semaine de la Critique, a parallel section of the Cannes Film Festival.

Snowtown is Justin Kurzel's debut feature which opened in Australian cinemas last Thursday. It won the Audience Award at the 2011 Adelaide Film Festival where it premiered.

Justin has worked in film and theatre as a designer and director. A postgraduate in Film Directing at VCA, his graduating short Blue Tongue screened at the 2005 Cannes Critics' Week.
