Funding for documentary stories with a bold vision

Screen Australia's new Signature Documentary Program is open for applications until 9 September.

The Signature program provides production funding for projects that are bold in form and content. The stories can be local or international but they must have an Australian team with a strong vision.

"Signature docs often attract critical recognition and have a healthy life on the festival circuit. They are the stories documentary makers infuse with passion and craft to connect to their audience. In a world of shrinking time slots for the one-off documentary, the Signature program is a breath of fresh air," said Liz Stevens, Screen Australia’s Documentary Manager.

So if you have a story that must be told, check out the guidelines on the Screen Australia website to see if it fits the program. A broadcast presale is not a prerequisite but you should have ideas for finance beyond Screen Australia support.

The closing date is 9 September 2011. View the guidelines on the website.
