Travel grants on offer for screen industry event in India

Australia continues to develop closer ties with India, with a growing number of practitioners developing relationships in the region.

In conjunction with the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade, Screen Australia is offering travel grants of up to $3,000 for Australian industry practitioners to attend the upcoming Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI) Frames Convention in Mumbai, 12–14 March 2013.

FICCI Frames is the largest screen industry event in India. It is a three-day global convention covering the media and entertainment: film, broadcast (TV & Radio), digital entertainment, animation, gaming and visual effects. Nearly 2,000 Indian and 800 foreign delegates are expected to attend.

Content producers who are seeking to expand upon existing relationships in India, investigate potential co-production, investment and sales opportunities, or learn more about the Indian market are encouraged to apply. Applications from other screen industry members with established relationships in India may also be considered.

Applicants will need to provide a clear market strategy outlining their argument for attendance, desired outcomes and a demonstrated understanding of the market. Preference will be given to applicants who have at least one project in advanced development suitable for this market.

A co-production treaty with India is currently in negotiation.
