Justin Donoghue joins as Development Executive

Screen Australia today announced Justin Donoghue has been appointed Development Executive.

Justin will replace Jo Dillon, who left Screen Australia in August to become Head of Production and Development at Screen Queensland.

Screen Australia Head of Production Sally Caplan said “I am delighted to have Justin bring in his range of skills and experience, particularly in development.  He will be a huge asset to us in these busy and evolving times. Justin is well liked by the industry and filmmakers and known for his insightful and sensitive approach. We look forward to Justin joining our team.”

Justin is currently Development and Production Executive at Screen NSW, focusing primarily on feature development. As well as working across television and interactive projects he manages Screen NSW’s acclaimed Aurora development program.  He has brought specialist script and development skills to work with projects like Ruin (Special Jury Prize, Venice) and The Daughter and has worked with prominent filmmakers including Amiel Courtin-Wilson, Simon Stone, Jan Chapman, Jennifer Kent, Cate Shortland, Andrew Bovell, and John Collee.

Justin brings 15 years extensive international experience working in Europe, South Africa and the UK across development, production and distribution. In London he worked on projects for Hallmark Entertainment, Film Four, Channel Five, Downtown Pictures and Kudos Film and Television.

Justin has a solid understanding of working with international development programs including The Script Factory and BFI London Film Festival, and has previously worked for ARISTA Development and First Film Foundation. He is a graduate of the UK National Film & Television School.

Justin will commence his role on 15 December.
