How might a film better meet an audience?

Screen Australia announces two one-day Film Labs for experienced feature practitioners with international distribution expert Peter Buckingham.

The labs will focus on developing a greater understanding of how audience-centred thinking is brought into the creative and marketing process and the value it can deliver to projects.

Peter Buckingham will lead both the one-day lab in Sydney, in partnership with Screen NSW, on Wednesday 11 March 2015 and in Melbourne, in partnership with Film Victoria, on Monday 16 March 2015.

This initiative will provide an opportunity to experiment with strategies, marketing plans and production processes by putting the audience at the heart of thinking. It will be interactive and cooperative, utilising techniques and tools from various design-thinking frameworks.

Participants will come away with new perspectives, ways of thinking and ideas that can help their projects by improving their audience’s experience, reach and engagement.

The labs are open to professional producers who have at least one completed and released feature film credit and are currently working on another feature film at any stage in the production cycle, but prior to release.

Cost is $35. To apply for the Sydney or Melbourne Film Labs visit the Screen Australia website and submit a statement of claims by COB, Friday 27 February 2015.
