Vitamania: meet the filmmaker

Writer/director/producer Sonya Pemberton on scripted documentaries, science communication and collaborating with Derek Muller.

Sonya Pemberton of Genepool Productions wrote, directed and executive produced Vitamania, Genepool's second collaboration with presenter Dr Derek Muller from the Veritasium YouTube channel.

Sonya says the first collaboration, Uranium: Fighting the Dragon's Tail, was heavily pirated so they've made sure to make the documentary available worldwide at the same time. Australians can see Vitamania on SBS On Demand. It's also available on CuriosityStream and Arte.

Sonya says it's imperative for accurate and entertaining science communication: "Now more than ever we need to be focusing on telling good science stories so that people get good information."
