Cannes selector in Australia

In January, Screen Australia will host Paolo Bertolin from the Cannes Directors’ Fortnight Selection Committee to pre-select titles for the May 2019 festival.

These Final Hours

Cannes Directors’ Fortnight (La Quinzaine) celebrates its 51st edition in 2019. Running from 15-25 May, the festival encourages independent voices, emerging talent and cultural diversity.

Previous Australian films selected for Directors’ Fortnight include These Final Hours in 2014 and Cicada in 2009.

The festival selects up to 20 features (including documentaries) and 10 shorts to screen as World or International Premieres.

Filmmakers with eligible films for Bertolin to view during his Australian visit should contact Dale Fairbairn before 7 January 2019.

Bertolin has visited Australia in a programming capacity since 2011. Until recently, he represented the Venice Film Festival.
