Australian Emmy nominees reception
The talented Australian TV professionals nominated in the Emmys gathered at an event hosted by the Australian Consulate-General, Los Angeles.
Australians in Film, Screen Australia and the Consulate partnered on the Emmy nominees reception, which played host to Emmy recipient Perry Meek, and nominees such as Geoffrey Rush, Kate Dennis, Bruna Papandrea and Liane Moriarty.
Perry Meek was recognised for his costume design work on RuPaul's Drag Race.
While Australian director Kate Dennis was nominated for The Handmaid's Tale – which ended up winning five Emmys. And Bruna Papandrea and Liane Moriarty's Big Little Lies was nominated, going on to win five awards too – including Outstanding Lead Actress in a Limited Series for Nicole Kidman.
Geoffrey Rush was nominated for his role in Genius.
Westworld actor Leonardo Nam, Orange Is The New Black's Ruby Rose, director Michael Rymer, Screen Australia CEO Graeme Mason and the Australian Consul‑General in Los Angeles Chelsey Martin were also there to celebrate Australian success in the U.S.
