Screen Australia welcomes new Games Investment Manager Chad Toprak
Screen Australia is pleased to announce that Chad Toprak joined the agency last week in the role of Games Investment Manager, reporting to Head of Online, Lee Naimo.
Chad Toprak
Chad is an award-winning independent game developer with over 10 years’ experience. From 2017 – 2022 Chad was Artistic Director of Freeplay, the world’s longest-running independent games festival, and has worked in curating exhibitions, judging for various games awards and partnering with arts organisations and museums to celebrate games and the industry. He has been named in Develop Pacific’s inaugural 30 Under Thirty list for 2018, GamesIndustry.biz’s Game Changers 2020 list, shortlisted for Game Dev Heroes in 2021 and was awarded a 2021 Australian Game Developer Award.
As a consultant, Chad has sat on advisory committees for ACMI, Australia Council for the Arts, VicScreen, Creative Victoria, Arts Centre Melbourne, RMIT and UNHCR - advising on games culture, industry strategy and diversity and inclusion related topics. Chad brings a wealth of experience and insights from the industry and continues to champion game making as arts-practice - something that is very important to him.
