The Screen Guide

Fez Faanana is many things - a clown, a drag artiste, a dancer, a prancer, a Samoan, an Australian, a legal immigrant, an orchestrator, the love child of the bearded lady and the co-founder of his all male burlesque theatre company “Briefs Factory”. This short observational documentary presents Fez Faanana’s journey from growing up in a small Queensland town as a gay Samoan boy to representing Australia on the world stage in drag as he opens up to Australian audiences about the realities of Samoan traditions versus the modern world today all while preparing for the next leg of the “Briefs Factory - Close Encounters” tour in New Zealand. FEZ is a visual and musical celebration of love, sex, art, dance and GLITTER honouring Fez’s personal story while showcasing the hardships and triumphs of touring his all male burlesque theatre company.
