International Strategic Delegations

EVENT: INDIGENOUS DELEGATION LA

21-27 OCTOBER 2018

Why?

  • For strategic delegations to specific international events in order to assist with outcomes for sustainable careers and slates

Who?

  • Applicants must be Australian citizens or residents and meet our Terms of Trade and be
  • an Indigenous director or producer, or
  • a company with at least 50% or more Indigenous owned.
  • Applicants must have at least one of credit in their respective role on
  • a feature film drama that has been recently (last 3 years) awarded at Cannes, Sundance, Toronto, Venice or Sundance international film festivals,
  • a feature film drama that has recently (last 3 years) been distributed and theatrically released in multiple major international territories, or
  • a TV drama series (not children’s programs) broadcast or shown on significant channels or platforms in multiple major international territories, with audiences in excess of 1 million or having been 1 of the top 5 most-watched shows on an established platform.
  • Indigenous writers with a credit on a feature film drama that has been recently (last 3 years) awarded at Cannes, Sundance, Toronto, Venice or Sundance international film festivals are also eligible to apply.
  • In addition, applicants must
  • have pitch ready features and/or TV series well suited for US market,
  • be established high level key creatives, with traction internationally from completed work and existing experience and support from US industry, and
  • have a significant track record and established career locally and be well positioned to launch
  • You may apply as a team.

What?

  • Up to 12 delegates will be selected for up to $6,000 for each person towards travel.

How?

The deadline to apply is 5pm AEST on Monday, August 27, 2018.

Applications can be made through the Application Portal with the following materials:

  • A CV including recent credits and details of any commercial, significant viewership and/or major festival or awards success.
  • A proposal (maximum 6 pages) that includes:
  • Details on your current slate of projects that will be pitched at the event, including for each title: the stage of development or production; the budget and the currently secured finance; and, the currently secured key creative and marketplace attachments or interest 
  • A detailed proposed meeting list with reason and desired outcomes of each meeting
  • Any intended professional development objectives and activities.

Eligible applications will be considered by a Screen Australia staff member and/or industry specialists as required.

Funding decisions will be made against the following criteria:

  • The strength of the proposal and the applicant’s CV and experience and knowledge pertinent to the strategic delegation
