Screen Australia has announced the return of Talent USA: New York.

Screen Australia is pleased to announce that Jorjia Gillis has joined the agency this week in the role of Development and Investment Manager, First Nations, reporting to Head of First Nations Angela Bates. In this role, Jorjia will be responsible for assessing applications and managing funded projects across the First Nations Department’s funding programs and initiatives.

The following Screen Australia funding programs are open for applications in July: BTL Next Step Stage Two (Thursday 29 June), Online Development Funding (Saturday 1 July), Producer Equity Program (PEP) (Saturday 1 July), and Story Development (Saturday 1 July). Application closing dates for the Documentary Producer Program have changed for the 2023/24 financial year. Applications will now be assessed in three funding rounds.

Screen Australia has opened applications for screen practitioners to attend Content London, a world leading development marketplace and conference. A limited number of discount registrations are also on offer.

Screen Australia has met the goal of the Gender Matters KPI: 55% of key creative roles across approved development and production funding were women across the three-year reporting period. However, there was a downward trend across the reporting period, and more work needs to be done.

BTL Next Step is a credit springboard and career accelerator for established below-the-line (BTL) mid-career practitioners to step up into senior crew and leadership roles that have been identified as experiencing shortages. This round’s opportunities are focused on Line Producers, Production Accountants, and Post-Production Supervisors.
